The military’s “Surveying Instrument Registration Card” notes a “Japanese 30″ Reading Theodolite” and indicates “36.4 transferred from the U.S. Army Headquarters.” The manufacturer’s label inside the box reads “No. 2646, made in June of Showa 18, Tokyo Optical Co., Ltd.”
